Interested in becoming a sponsor of the 2021 Huron Perth Agriculture and Water Festival?
It’s easy! Express you interest by emailing Johanna, Festival Coordinator at huronperthfestival [at] gmail [dot] come. No donation is too little. The HPAWF depends entirely on donations; we sincerely appreciate any amount sponsors wish to donate. Without our sponsors and our volunteers there would be no HPAWF.
New to the Huron Perth Agriculture and Water Festival?
The festival began in 1992 as a Slice of Huron and educated students about agriculture. In 2005, the festival expanded to include information sessions on water. The festival is now a full day event where students spend a half-day learning about agriculture and a half-day learning about water. To our knowledge, we are the only combined agriculture and water festival. Every year the festival is held in April at the Seaforth Arena and Agri-plex. The central location allows all schools from Huron and Perth to attend for the day. The festival is open to schools in Avon Maitland District School board, the Huron-Perth Catholic School Board, Christian schools, and home school groups. Roughly 600 Grade 4 students and their teachers participate every year. This festival provides students with an interactive and engaging atmosphere for hands-on learning about agriculture and water conservation. Students learn about the important role of agriculture and water within their everyday lives, as well as their individual role in our local environment. The HPAWF is organized and facilitated by local Agricultural Producer Groups, local Government Agencies and local School Boards. An extensive volunteer base of over 50 community members, facilitate and present this event, making the festival possible!
Curious where your sponsorship money goes?
All donations collected are used to run the festival. This includes bussing the students to the festival. Repeatedly, year after year, teachers express their gratitude toward HPAWF’s bussing subsidy. Without this subsidy, teachers have indicated that they would be unable to bring their students to the festival. With your sponsorship, we are able to send a student or a class to HPAWF. Collected sponsorship funds are also used to pay for the use of the facilities and operational costs of setting up the festival.
Our thank you to you!
All sponsors are thanked via this website, poster boards at the event, and a Thank You Ad in The Focus newspaper. Our sponsors are also invited for a special VIP tour of the festival complete with hot lunch. This year’s VIP tour with lunch will take place on Wednesday April 8th, starting at 10:30 am. VIP participants must arrange for a spot on the tour by contacting the Coordinator. Please meet in the front foyer of the Seaforth Community Centre. A tour of the festival will conclude with lunch at 11:30 am. While on the tour, sponsors will receive a summary of all our sessions and see students partaking in the activities. Sponsors fell free to ask questions while on the tour!
